Terms of Service

1. Trial Session Policy

We offer a 1-hour trial session to all new customers to help you experience our teaching and for the instructor to assess your level. These terms apply to any customer taking a trial session, regardless of whether they register through the website or via other LSV platforms, and remain applicable even if they are not explicitly communicated to the customer by an administrator.

• If you decide to continue, the trial will count as your first paid session. If not, there will be no charge.
• Only one trial is allowed per participant.
• If you request to change the instructor after the trial, or want another trial session, a fee may apply.
• If the trial is interrupted or missed due to participant-side issues (e.g. no-show, poor connection), any additional trial sessions must be paid in advance.
• You may reschedule once free of charge. Further rescheduling will require payment in advance.
• If you don’t confirm within 24 hours, your trial slot may be released.
• Trial sessions for group classes will only take place when a suitable group is available. 1-on-1 trials can usually be scheduled promptly.
• If the session takes place at a café or similar venue with additional costs (such as drinks, entry fees, or space rental), we would appreciate it if the student could cover these expenses for the tutor, including any minimum spend required at the café.

2. Payment & Fees Policy

a. Payment

• Lesson-by-lesson payment is not available, except during promotional periods or if otherwise agreed
• Payment must be completed before the 2nd lesson of the course.

b. Fees

• Studying fees vary depending on the class format, which includes Group or Private lessons, Online or Offline options, and the location of the class. Please refer to the Class Types & Fees section for pricing details.
• If the session takes place at a café or similar venue with additional costs (such as drinks, entry fees, or space rental), we would appreciate it if the student could cover these expenses for the tutor, including any minimum spend required at the café.

3. Refund Policy

• Refunds will not be provided under any circumstances. However, customers may request to suspend their remaining hours for future use or transfer the remaining hour balance to another person, subject to Let’s Speak Vietnamese’s approval and applicable policies.
• In cases where the course is disrupted due to changes initiated by LSV (e.g., change of instructor or scheduling adjustments), we will make every effort to resolve the issue and ensure the continuation of the program in a manner that meets the participant’s needs, by mutual agreement between LSV and the participant.
• In exceptional situations (e.g., serious health issues, fatal accidents, family emergencies), a participant has an option to suspend their remaining hours for future use (up to 2 months) or transfer the remaining value of unused hours to another customer designated by them. Eligibility for credit transfer is defined as follows:
  • For a 10-hour course: if less than 50% of the course has been completed.
  • For 20-hour, 30-hour courses or more: if less than 80% of the course has been completed.
• Official documentation or proof of the situation is required for the credit transfer request to be processed.

4. Cancellation Policy

a. Cancellation

• Cancellation is possible based on mutual agreement between participants and the instructor.
• For each package of 10 scheduled hours, a maximum of 2 lessons of schedule changes is allowed in total. From the 3rd lesson onward, any cancellation will be considered a completed session. Any unused change allowance will not be carried over to the next packages.
• Notification of changes must be made in the official LSV group chat AND agreed upon by all confirmed participants AT LEAST 3 hours prior to the scheduled session. Late notifications or notifications made outside the official group chat will result in the session being counted as completed.
• For group-based formats, cancellation or rescheduling can be requested only when fewer than 50% of the confirmed participants are able to attend, and only if everyone agrees.
• In case multiple cancellations or changes are initiated by the instructor, participants may request a change in instructor.

b. Adjusting The Schedule

• Schedule adjustments may be requested once per 10-hour package, by mutual agreement. Multiple changes are discouraged to ensure smooth coordination and continuity of the program.
• All such discussions must take place via the official LSV group chat.

c. Taking A Break

Participants may place their one-on-one program on hold once per payment. This pause can be requested at any time during the course, provided it aligns with the following duration-based conditions:

• Starting Point: The hold period begins from the date of the most recent completed session.
• Finality: After the designated pause period expires, continuation of the program will no longer be supported, and remaining hours will be forfeited.
• Frequency: Strictly limited to one pause per payment cycle, regardless of the reason.
• Pausing is not available for group-based courses, unless all participants in the group agree.

5. Communication Policy

• During the time of having classes at LSV, instructors and participants must not add each other as friends on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or any other similar social media platforms, unless you were already friends on social media before starting classes.
• It is emphasized that instructors and participants should limit messaging each other privately about any topic, especially class-related matters.
• All changes regarding classes (e.g: cancellations, study time changes, absences, continuation, etc.) MUST be announced and discussed in the official group chat (created by LSV via Messenger/ Zalo/ Whatsapp/ etc. at the beginning of the course).
• All communication between instructors and participants must base on mutual respect and consideration. We do not tolerate inappropriate comments, messages with a suggestive tone, dishonesty, swearing, stalking, threats, verbal and physical harassment.
• Note that this is an educational place, not where to practice misconduct. We understand but do not encourage flirting from either our instructor(s) or you – as the participant(s). We kindly ask you to avoid using emojis that may carry romance or flirtation, such as 😍😘🫶💑💘
• Please be aware that if we find any form of inappropriate communication has caused discomfort to either party, the class will be canceled. In that case, if the initiator is you, you will not get any payment back and will be banned from our services. On the contrary, if the initiator is our instructor, we will compensate a complete new course with a new instructor.
